Director of Nutrition Services :  Oak Hills Living Center

Due to a upcoming retirement and expansion at Oak Hills Living Center, we are seeking a full-time Director of Nutrition Services to join our team. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents every day.

As the Director of Nutrition Services, you will play a vital role in creating a dining experience that is both nutritious and enjoyable, delivered in a warm and caring environment. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced setting and is passionate about both people and quality food.

Key Responsibilities

·         Oversee daily Nutrition Services operations at Oak Hills Living Center

·         Lead department functions including staffing, training, performance management, and employee development

·         Monitor department budget, labor costs, purchasing, inventory, food waste, and overall expenses

·         Plan, coordinate, and oversee meal preparation and service to ensure quality, presentation, and resident satisfaction

·         Participate in menu planning, incorporating resident preferences, substitutions, and therapeutic diet requirements

·         Ensure safe food receiving, storage, preparation, holding, and service practices

·         Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian (RD) and Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to monitor residents’ nutritional status

·         Support nutrition assessments, care planning, and interventions to promote positive resident outcomes

·         Maintain kitchen equipment cleaning schedules and department standards

·         Build positive working relationships with residents, families, staff, physicians, and vendors

Qualifications

·         Certified Dietary Manager (CDM), Dietary Technician, nutrition-related degree, or completion of a food service management program

·         ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within six months)

·         Long-term care (LTC) food service experience preferred

·         Prior supervisory experience required

·         Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

·         Ability to motivate, coach, and supervise team members

Schedule
This position is primarily Monday through Friday, day shift. Flexibility to work outside of regular hours may be occasionally required to ensure adequate staffing coverage and support department operations.
