Director of Nutrition Services

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead and expand nutrition and community health programs. This leadership role combines strategic oversight, clinical nutrition expertise, and operational management to drive program growth, improve patient outcomes, and enhance community engagement. The selected candidate will oversee nutrition services, staff development, program performance, and day-to-day operations while helping shape the future direction of a growing department.

Role Overview

• Lead the Nutrition Services department and oversee both clinical and administrative operations
• Provide strategic direction for nutrition, wellness, and community-based programs
• Manage a team of approximately 15–20 employees, including support and outreach staff
• Balance clinical nutrition responsibilities with operational leadership (approximately 60% administrative / 40% clinical)
• Drive program growth, process improvement, and service expansion initiatives
• Ensure regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, and operational excellence
• Collaborate with organizational leadership to streamline and strengthen nutrition services
• Serve as the primary nutrition expert and departmental leader

Key Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of Nutrition Services and nutrition-related programs
• Provide clinical nutrition leadership and patient care oversight
• Supervise, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary staff members
• Manage departmental budgets, resources, and operational performance
• Develop and implement program goals, policies, and quality initiatives
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards
• Monitor department metrics, outcomes, and performance indicators
• Partner with leadership on strategic planning and growth initiatives
• Support community outreach and nutrition education efforts
• Foster a collaborative, patient-centered culture across the department

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field required
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• Progressive leadership experience within nutrition services, clinical nutrition, public health, community health, or related healthcare settings
• Experience managing staff, budgets, and departmental operations
• Experience leading program development, process improvement, and organizational initiatives
• Strong background balancing clinical and operational responsibilities
• Experience overseeing community health, nutrition, or wellness programs preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) strongly preferred
• Additional leadership, nutrition, or public health certifications preferred
