Status: Full Time, ExemptReports to: Vice President of OperationsSalary Range: $100,000–$130,000 annually

Position Overview

The Director of Occupational Health Services will have end-to-end ownership of the operational performance, growth, and development of IMA’s Occupational Health operations. This highly autonomous, hands-on leader will serve as the organization’s primary Occupational Health subject matter expert and will be accountable for building the processes, capabilities, and infrastructure needed to scale the service line.

Reporting to the Vice President of clinic operations, the Director will make operational decisions, solve complex challenges, standardize workflows, assess clinic capabilities, support pricing and business-development decisions, and lead the implementation of new clients and services. The ideal candidate has significant Occupational Health experience and can create structure, drive accountability, and move initiatives from concept through execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day performance, development, and growth of the Occupational Health lines of business.
• Establish operational priorities, scalable workflows, SOPs, service standards, and accountability measures.
• Serve as the primary internal subject matter expert, decision-maker, and escalation point for Occupational Health.
• Identify operational challenges, develop solutions, and drive issues through resolution.
• Partner with Sales and Business Development to evaluate new opportunities, operational feasibility, and service expansion.
• Translate client requirements into practical workflows and lead new client and service implementations from contract award through launch.
• Support pricing recommendations by evaluating staffing, equipment, resources, service complexity, capacity, and expected margins.
• Maintain a comprehensive clinic capability matrix covering providers, staffing, equipment, laboratory services, imaging, vaccines, drug testing, physicals, respiratory and fit testing, and other Occupational Health services.
• Evaluate capacity and identify the staffing, provider, space, equipment, or training needed to support new business.
• Reduce unnecessary variation across locations while appropriately accommodating client-specific requirements.
• Identify opportunities for automation, technology improvements, and operational efficiencies.
• Establish and monitor performance indicators, including volume, revenue, turnaround time, productivity, utilization, quality, client service levels, and profitability.
• Develop operational reports and dashboards and use data to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
• Partner with Finance and Billing on pricing, reimbursement, billing, revenue-cycle performance, and profitability.
• Collaborate across Operations, Sales, Finance, Billing, IT, Compliance, Provider Relations, Clinical Leadership, and clinic leadership.
• Drive accountability across teams, including stakeholders who do not directly report to this position.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, client, HIPAA, OSHA, contractual, and organizational requirements.
• Coach and develop direct reports and other team members as assigned.

Education and Experience

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
• Seven or more years of progressive experience in Occupational Health, occupational medicine, employer health, urgent care, or a related healthcare environment.
• Experience within a multi-site healthcare or Occupational Health organization.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing operational processes and supporting clients with varying service requirements.
• Proven ability to independently identify problems, make sound decisions, and drive solutions through implementation.
• Experience with client implementations and engagement, pricing, budgeting, financial analysis, KPI’s, and P&L’s.

Preferred:

• Experience owning, leading, or growing an Occupational Health service line.
• Knowledge of common Occupational Health services, including physicals, drug testing, vaccines, respiratory and fit testing, laboratory services, and imaging.

• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, geographically dispersed organization.
• Demonstrate strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, and create and interpret reports, dashboards, and operational tools.
• Up to 20% travel to IMA locations and client sites as needed.
