Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Director of Occupational Health to join our team in the construction industry. This role will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of an effective occupational health program, ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are upheld across our employee health and wellness projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in industrial medicine, with a solid understanding of the unique health and safety challenges presented by the construction industry. Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and manage the company's occupational health program, ensuring compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
2. Conduct regular audits and inspections of construction sites to identify potential health hazards and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
3. Oversee the management of work-related injuries and illnesses, including the provision of first aid, medical treatment, and rehabilitation.
4. Coordinate with safety teams and site managers to develop and deliver health and safety training programs for all employees.
5. Develop and maintain relationships with external healthcare providers, ensuring access to necessary medical services for employees.
6. Collaborate with HR and management to develop policies and procedures that promote a healthy and safe work environment.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in occupational health and safety legislation, industry trends, and best practices.
8. Prepare and present regular reports on the status of the occupational health program to senior management.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Industrial Medicine, or a related field. A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
2. A minimum of 5 years' experience in occupational health management, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and standards applicable to the construction industry.
4. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
7. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and occupational health management software.
8. Certification in Occupational Health Nursing or Industrial Hygiene is highly desirable.
9. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various construction sites as required.
