About the Opportunity
A growing multi-concept hospitality group operating distinctive restaurants and venues across the New York area is seeking a Director of Operations to own the day-to-day running of the business across all venues. This is a hands-on, in-venue leadership role built for a seasoned operator who leads from the floor — not from behind a desk.
The role exists to ensure the operating model is executed consistently and to a high standard, that management teams are developed and supported, and that each venue performs against its targets.
Reports to: VP of Operations
Direct Reports: General Managers (venue-level)
Key Responsibilities
Systems, SOPs & Operating Standards
- Maintain, improve, and enforce operational systems and SOPs across all venues, ensuring consistent execution against agreed standards
- Identify operational gaps and friction points and drive practical solutions in partnership with venue teams
- Serve as the operational point of escalation for issues that cannot be resolved at the venue level
Leadership & Development of Management Teams
- Lead, coach, and develop General Managers and their leadership teams — owning their growth, performance, and day-to-day support
- Be close to the people: present in the venues, working through operational challenges alongside the teams, steady through both the highs and the lows
- Drive a culture of accountability and development across the management population, including reviews, succession planning, and capability building
Business Performance
- Own day-to-day venue performance against operational and financial targets — labor, cost lines, service standards, and guest metrics
- Partner with GMs on trading performance, surfacing risks and opportunities and acting on them at the operational level
Guest Relations & Events
- Uphold the guest experience standard across all venues and act as a senior operational presence for high-profile guests and situations
- Own the operational delivery of events end-to-end, ensuring execution meets brand standard
Facilities
- Own the upkeep, maintenance, and operational readiness of each venue, ensuring the physical environment consistently meets standard
- Manage relationships with facilities vendors and coordinate works to minimize disruption to trading

About You
- Significant leadership experience in high-volume restaurant operations, ideally across multiple venues or concepts
- A proven track record of developing General Managers and building strong leadership benches
- Strong commercial acumen — confident managing labor, COGS, budgets, and forecasts
- Deep fluency in operational systems, SOPs, and service standards
- A hands-on, in-venue leadership style
- Genuine passion for hospitality and an uncompromising eye for the guest experience
Compensation: $155,000 – $180,000 base salary, commensurate with experience
