The Director of Operations is a senior leadership position responsible for driving operational performance, cross-functional execution, and organizational accountability across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Warehouse Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Research & Development. This role serves as the operational leader for the business, ensuring that projects are executed effectively, teams remain aligned, and organizational goals are achieved. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who can build credibility with technical teams, drive accountability, remove roadblocks, and create a culture focused on execution, continuous improvement, and results. The Director of Operations will partner closely with department leaders to improve communication, establish priorities, lead process improvement initiatives, and ensure products are designed, manufactured, and delivered on time while maintaining quality and regulatory compliance. This position offers significant long-term growth potential for an individual seeking to advance into executive leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop managers and cross-functional teams across Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Warehouse, and Product Development.
- Establish a culture of accountability, ownership, urgency, and execution.
- Drive alignment across departments and ensure organizational priorities are clearly communicated and achieved.
- Mentor and develop future leaders while supporting succession planning efforts.
- Build strong working relationships with long-tenured teams while driving positive organizational change.
- Oversee day-to-day operational performance and ensure achievement of business objectives related to quality, delivery, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage manufacturing operations to support on-time delivery commitments and company growth objectives.
- Partner with department leaders to identify bottlenecks, improve workflows, and optimize operational efficiency.
- Lead resource planning, labor planning, and operational capacity initiatives.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and R&D teams to drive successful product development, product improvement, and new product introduction activities.
- Lead cross-functional project execution and ensure critical engineering initiatives remain on schedule.
- Work closely with engineering leaders to establish priorities, monitor progress, and drive project accountability.
- Support design reviews, product changes, process improvements, and commercialization activities.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, streamline processes, and improve customer outcomes.
- Drive operational excellence through performance metrics, standardized processes, and effective project management practices.
- Partner with Information Technology teams to identify and digitize manual workflows.
- Improve data visibility, reporting capabilities, and business process automation.
- Support the implementation of new technologies and software tools that improve operational effectiveness.
- Evaluate opportunities to leverage AI, workflow automation, and digital business tools to enhance organizational performance.
- Oversee supply chain activities, inventory management, supplier performance, and material planning processes.
- Partner with Customer Service leadership to improve communication, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure effective coordination between sales, operations, engineering, and customer-facing teams.
- Manage operating budgets, capital expenditures, and resource allocation.
- Monitor key operational metrics and develop action plans to improve performance.
- Support long-term business growth through strategic planning and operational execution.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor"s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or related discipline).
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within manufacturing, engineering, operations, or supply chain environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing managers and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, engineering processes, project management, and product development.
- Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma.
- Strong communication, leadership, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to effectively lead both direct and indirect teams toward shared business objectives.
- 5+ years leading and developing manufacturing operations teams.
- 8+ years experience in FDA regulated manufacturing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience within medical device, aerospace, industrial equipment, automation, oil & gas, or other complex manufacturing environments.
- MBA or advanced technical degree.
- Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent certification.
- Experience with electromechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or capital equipment systems.
- Familiarity with FDA, ISO, and regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience leading digital transformation, workflow automation, ERP enhancements, or operational technology initiatives.

This position is in a Medical Device Equipment Manufacturer environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Anaheim, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
