Fusion Recruiters is partnering with a growing, employee-owned distribution company to identify a hands-on Director of Operations.

This is an opportunity for an experienced operations leader to take ownership of a well-maintained facility with significant potential for process improvement, warehouse optimization, and systems modernization. Reporting directly to the President, this individual will lead daily onsite operations and serve as the company’s primary operational decision-maker.

The ideal candidate is a builder—someone who has created structure, improved accountability, and implemented scalable processes within a warehouse or distribution environment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead day-to-day warehouse and distribution operations, including receiving, inventory, staging, light customization, and shipping.
• Establish scalable processes, operating standards, and performance expectations.
• Evaluate warehouse layout, product flow, staging, and space utilization.
• Improve inventory management, purchasing, and operational efficiency.
• Lead or support the selection and implementation of a Warehouse Management System or other inventory technology.
• Develop supervisors, strengthen team accountability, and build collaboration across the operation.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and translate ideas into measurable results.
• Serve as the President’s operational counterpart, allowing him to remain focused on customers, sales, and company growth.
• Build the operational capacity needed to support continued expansion.

What We’re Looking For

• Progressive leadership experience within warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, or a related operational environment.
• Demonstrated success building processes and improving operational performance.
• Experience improving warehouse layout, material flow, staging, inventory accuracy, or purchasing processes.
• Meaningful involvement in a WMS, ERP, inventory digitization, or similar technology initiative.
• Proven ability to establish accountability, develop people, and earn credibility with an existing team.
• A hands-on leadership style and willingness to remain visible throughout the operation.
• Comfort working independently within a growing, entrepreneurial business.
• Ability to partner directly and confidently with a highly sales-driven President.
• Specific, measurable examples of improvements you personally helped lead and implement.
