Job Summary:
The Director of Operations has overall responsibility for the production of products in the manufacturing facility. This includes manufacturing, production, maintenance, warehousing, tooling, safety, facilities and quality assurance.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Function as a strategic business partner and advisor to the COO, with broad decision-making authority within a framework established by the COO.
- Responsible for directing the manufacture of products on a demanding schedule in accordance with high quality standards and at the lowest possible cost.
- Drive manufacturing excellence through increased quality, reduced cycle time and improved customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for capital equipment, inventory levels, production control and supplies, health, safety and environmental assurance, and manufacturing support activities. Staffing planning and budget compliance are critical.
- Develop the most efficient and cost-effective manufacturing organization.
- Define short-term and long-term goals for the manufacturing site including capacity planning and site rationalization.
- Work closely with other functional areas such as Sales, Human Resources, Engineering, and Finance for optimal plant performance.
- Focus on continuous improvements in manufacturing quality and reliability.
- Be a key member of the leadership team and contribute to the overall strategy and direction of the company.

Education, Training and Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) and 10+ years in manufacturing and 15+ years in various forms of operations.
- MBA or engineering degree preferred but not required
- Prior plant management experience of 150+ employee 24/7 operation is required.
- Facility turn-around experience preferred but not required.
- Experience in plastics manufacturing and understanding of various models of injection molding process preferred.
- Lean manufacturing or TPM experience preferred but not required.
- Previous experience managing multiple warehouses preferred
