Job DetailsJob Details:
We are looking for an experienced Director of Production to join our growing manufacturing business in the Sealy, TX area. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation and growth of the manufacturing plant. You will develop and implement new programs that raise quality and productivity, partner closely with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams, and lead the plant toward its vision by building a culture of confidence, trust, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Lead all plant production operations to achieve annual safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
Champion a strong safety culture by communicating and enforcing safety rules and procedures across the manufacturing organization.
Develop and implement programs that drive higher product quality, productivity, and customer service.
Map production processes and eliminate non-value-added activities to streamline operations.
Apply problem-solving and error-proofing methods to resolve quality and production issues.
Partner with engineering, maintenance, and quality functions on capital planning, preventative maintenance, and problem solving.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and statistical process control.
Ensure environmentally responsible plant operations and support plant growth initiatives.
Mentor and develop team members while fostering teamwork, open communication, and accountability.
Educate employees at all levels on the importance of continuous improvement as a core element of manufacturing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive manufacturing management experience.
Strong knowledge of safety management practices and regulations.
Comprehensive knowledge of continuous improvement concepts, including lean manufacturing and statistical process control.
Solid understanding of mechanical engineering, with a conceptual understanding of chemical and/or electrical engineering.
Proven problem-solving, error-proofing, and process mapping skills.
Excellent communication skills marked by sincerity, persuasiveness, and clarity of thought.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to build teamwork and cooperative communication.
