Job Description

Operational Leadership

• Provide executive leadership for multiple large-scale commercial and industrial construction projects.
• Establish and implement operational strategies that support company growth, profitability, and project success.
• Lead both field operations and office functions while ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
• Develop operational processes, procedures, and performance metrics that drive consistency and efficiency.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor and develop Project Executives, Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Superintendents.

Project Delivery & Oversight

• Maintain executive oversight of project schedules, budgets, procurement activities, manpower planning, and risk management.
• Conduct routine project reviews to evaluate performance, financial status, quality metrics, and client satisfaction.
• Ensure proper planning and execution throughout all phases of construction.
• Partner with project teams to proactively identify and resolve issues that could impact project outcomes.
• Support project startup, execution planning, and resource allocation.

Financial Management

• Monitor project profitability, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Review project financial performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Work closely with senior leadership to improve operational margins and project returns.
• Ensure accountability for budget adherence and resource utilization.

Safety & Quality

• Lead and promote a company-wide commitment to safety excellence.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety programs, and project-specific requirements.
• Conduct operational audits and site visits to evaluate safety, quality, and productivity.
• Implement quality control initiatives that drive superior project outcomes.

Client & Partner Relations

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, developers, design partners, and subcontractors.
• Serve as an executive representative during client meetings and project reviews.
• Support operational excellence efforts that enhance client satisfaction and repeat business opportunities.
• Collaborate with preconstruction and estimating teams during planning and project pursuits.

Talent Development

• Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing operational leaders.
• Establish succession planning and leadership development programs.
• Conduct performance evaluations and coaching initiatives.
• Build a strong leadership pipeline to support future growth.

Preferred Industry Experience The ideal candidate will have significant experience leading large-scale construction operations within one or more of the following sectors:

• Manufacturing facilities
• Agriculture processing facilities
• Food processing facilities
• Pet food manufacturing facilities
• Industrial construction environments
• Advanced manufacturing projects
• Distribution and logistics facilities
• Large commercial developments

Candidates with experience overseeing complex industrial process facilities and manufacturing-intensive projects are strongly preferred. The Successful Applicant

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive construction leadership experience.
• Minimum of 7 years in a senior operations leadership role.
• Proven success managing multiple concurrent projects ranging from $50 million to $500 million+.
• Extensive experience leading geographically dispersed project teams.
• Strong background in project financial management, operational reporting, and strategic planning.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel extensively and lead teams across multiple locations.
• Ability to travel Approximately 75% travel
• Current project portfolio includes work throughout the Midwest, including North Dakota and Houston, Texas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Professional certifications such as:
• • CCM (Certified Construction Manager)
  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • DBIA
  • LEED Accreditation
• Experience with self-perform construction operations.
• Experience supporting rapidly growing construction organizations or business units.
