Job Details

A growing ABA services organization is hiring a Director of Payor Relations to manage and expand relationships with commercial and government payors. The Director will lead payor business reviews, develop outcomes-based presentations, pursue reimbursement improvements, and protect existing agreements through proactive relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for assigned payors and lead regular business reviews.
• Present clinical outcomes, quality, access, and financial data in terms relevant to each payor.
• Identify rate opportunities; develop data-supported proposals and negotiate improved reimbursement and contract terms.
• Monitor contract performance, reimbursement trends, and risks to payor retention.
• Partner with revenue cycle leaders on denials, underpayments, and other issues affecting payor relationships.
• Work with clinical leadership on outcomes reporting and with finance on rate impact and payor mix.
• Support expansion within existing payor relationships, including new markets or services.
• Maintain accurate payor contact and activity records and keep provider portal and directory information current.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in payor relations, managed care, or healthcare contracting.
• Direct experience presenting to payors and negotiating reimbursement rates or contract terms.
• Ability to analyze clinical and financial data and build a persuasive case for improved rates.
• Strong understanding of ABA or behavioral health reimbursement.

Experience with a multi-state ABA provider, Medicaid and commercial payors in autism services, or an advanced degree is a plus.
