The Interim Director of Pharmacy will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Essential Job Functions:

Clinical:

  • Ensure hospital is in compliance with all New Jersey state acute care licensing regulations.
  • Mentoring and training staff members to enhance their professional development
  • Accountable for the pharmacy portion of the electronic healthcare record including system design, testing, validation, trouble shooting and user training.
  • Oversees pharmacy's role in patient care rounds and consults with health care providers to ensure optimal drug therapy; makes recommendations regarding selection, dosing and administration of medications.
  • Ensures documentation of pharmacist provided patient care services and medical therapy outcomes.
  • Preforms analysis on complied patient care area inspections to ensure proper drug availability, storage and dating.
  • Ensures accuracy of work completed by support personnel, in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Plans and implements policies and procedures.
  • Leads Antimicrobial Stewardship including any other future Stewardships as related to pharmacy.
  • Prepares pharmacy budget evaluations and formulary management utilizing research methods to identify the most cost-effective use of medications.
  • Responsible for the provision of formal patient and staff education programs.
  • Provides drug information services to patients and health care providers to deliver high quality care.
  • Participates in appropriate committees.
  • Oversees medication waste program(s).

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, PharmD preferred

 

Professional Experience:

  • Registered Pharmacist License within the state of Operations
  • 5 years of Pharmacy experience, preferably within Long Term Care
  • 3 years in a supervisory capacity
  • FrameworkLTC experience, a strong plus
