We are searching for a Director of Preconstruction for a privately-held construction company with over four decades of experience as a prime general contractor and subcontractor. They provide new construction, building renovation, and additions projects for Industrial, Commercial, Institutional, and Government users. They offer general contracting services utilizing traditional delivery methods: design/build, design/assist, CM, and design/bid/build and have been doing so in the Mid Atlantic for over 50 years.

Preconstruction Director Responsibilities

Preconstruction Function Leadership
- Lead preconstruction and estimating function as a system. Own the design, documentation & enforcement of estimating processes from pursuit decision through bid submission & post-award turnover.
Estimator Development & Accountability
Subcontractor Procurement & Risk Management
Estimating Support to Field Operations
Precon Client Deliverables
Tools, Data & Estimating Infrastructure
AI-Supported Workflow Implementation & Governance
Pursuit Strategy & Go/No-Go Support
Operational Reporting & COO Interface
Senior Management Responsibilities

Preconstruction Director Required Experience

Minimum of 15 years of commercial/federal construction estimating experience with progression from estimator roles into senior leadership roles.
Minimum of 5 years in a senior role with a direct responsibility for estimating function performance, including ownership of process & people.
Bachelor's in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
