San Francisco Wine Society is looking for an experienced hospitality professional with a proven background in business development and private events to lead the growth of our corporate and social events program.
Private events already account for more than half of our business, driven almost entirely by our reputation, word of mouth, and repeat clientele. With the addition of our newly built Peacock Lounge, designed specifically for private dining, corporate events, educational programming, and celebrations we have an exciting opportunity to significantly expand this side of the business.
At San Francisco Wine Society, we believe hospitality is more than simply providing a space or executing an event. While many venues provide a room and a menu, we partner with our clients to create memorable experiences through exceptional wine, genuine hospitality, and thoughtful programming.
We are looking for someone who can build on the strong foundation we have established while developing new relationships and creating new sources of business.
What You'll Do
-Develop and execute a proactive strategy to grow corporate and private event business.
-Build and maintain relationships with executive assistants, event planners, law firms, venture capital and private equity firms, financial institutions, technology companies, hotels, concierge teams, and other local businesses.
-Develop new business through networking, outreach, referrals, partnerships, and community involvement.
-Host site tours and confidently present San Francisco Wine Society and the Peacock Lounge as a destination for corporate entertaining and private celebrations.
-Consult with clients to understand their goals and create thoughtful, customized event experiences.
-Manage the sales process from initial inquiry through event execution, ensuring a seamless experience for every client.
-Maintain relationships with past clients to generate repeat business, referrals, and long-term partnerships.
-Represent San Francisco Wine Society at industry events and within the broader hospitality, business, and wine communities.
What We're Looking For
-5+ years of experience in hospitality sales, private dining, luxury events, restaurants, hotels, wine-focused hospitality, or a related field.
-A proven track record of generating new business through networking, relationship development, and proactive sales.
-Strong wine knowledge preferred and a genuine passion for wine and hospitality.
-Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
-Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple clients and events simultaneously.
-Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and excited by the opportunity to help grow a business.
-A natural relationship builder who understands that long-term success in hospitality is built on trust, follow-through, and genuine connection.
