    Description

    We are seeking an experienced Director of Psychiatric Nursing – Behavioral Health to provide leadership and support within a hospital setting. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), this role oversees nursing and patient care functions across multiple units, ensuring safe, high-quality care, staff competency, and efficient resource management. This position carries 24/7 responsibility for assigned areas.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist the CNO in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practices across multiple units.
    • Lead, mentor, and support clinical staff, serving as a role model and advocate for professional nursing standards.
    • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Promote high-quality, patient-centered care in psychiatric services.

    • Collaborate with hospital leadership to optimize operations and patient outcomes.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Required: Associate Degree in Nursing; Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) or healthcare-related field.
    • Preferred: Masters in Nursing (MSN) or healthcare-related field.

    • Minimum 5 years of psychiatric nursing leadership experience.

    • Active RN license in Massachusetts.

    • CPR certification required.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Proven leadership and hospital operational expertise.
