DIRECTOR OF PURCHASING Luxury Resort • Montana, USA • USD $112,000 + Housing Allowance
ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a Director of Purchasing for a luxury resort in Montana. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role oversees the full purchasing function across the property, ensuring all departments are adequately supplied within operational budgets while maintaining compliance with purchasing policies, vendor relationships, and cost control targets.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Manage all procurement activities including RFQ/RFP processes, bid evaluations, and supplier awards
Lead contract negotiations and maintain cost-effective, well-managed supplier relationships
Develop strategic pricing agreements and multi-location contracts where applicable
Oversee purchase order accuracy, delivery, and pricing across all departments
Develop and enforce purchasing, receiving, and inventory management policies and procedures
Maintain vendor, product, inventory, and pricing databases and catalogues
Report on inventory and costing performance to departmental and senior leadership
Collaborate with F&B, Hotel Operations, and Events teams on purchasing standards and SOPs
Support menu costing and cost optimisation exercises
Attend trade shows and industry events to identify innovative products and suppliers
WHAT YOU BRING
Minimum 5 years of progressive purchasing experience within the F&B;, hotel, or broader hospitality sector
Experience in large-scale operations; multi-unit purchasing experience is a strong asset
Proven budget and expense management skills with a track record of meeting or reducing cost targets
Strong relationship development and exceptional vendor negotiation skills
Excellent administration, interpersonal, and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; knowledge of purchasing, costing, and inventory management systems is a plus
Self-motivated, results-driven, and flexible to meet changing business demands
College or university degree preferred; industry certifications or professional training an asset
Must be a U.S. citizen - work permit sponsorship is not available for this role
WHAT'S OFFERED
Base salary of USD $112,000 per year
Housing allowance of USD $12,000 per year
