Job Details

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership in Purchasing & Inventory Management

Lead a team managing vendor relations and procurement, focusing on pricing and contract negotiations.
Maintain consistent inventory levels and prevent stockouts through data-driven inventory planning.
Improve inventory performance, inventory turns, and working capital efficiency.
Manage supply risks by monitoring global challenges and exploring alternative sources.
Establish accountability, performance expectations, and development plans among team members.
Drive process improvements and new item introductions within purchasing.
Conduct regular purchasing meetings and update leadership on progress.

Supplier Strategy & Global Sourcing:
Build upon existing supplier relationships and explore new sourcing opportunities.
Evaluate and ensure suppliers meet cost, service, and reliability standards.
Develop dual sourcing strategies to maintain supply continuity.
Attend major industry tradeshows and coordinate supplier events to strengthen industry presence.
Occasionally visit suppliers to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Market Intelligence & Category Management:
Monitor global supply and pricing trends, translating insights into actionable purchasing strategies.
Communicate market insights with leadership and customers through regular updates.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Align supply with customer demand in partnership with Sales and QA teams.
Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations alongside Quality Assurance.

Future Growth: Import Strategy Development:
Collaborate with leadership to gain expertise in global logistics, customs regulations, and import processes.
Prepare to lead import operations as responsibilities expand over time.

Key Metrics:
Service level and inventory efficiency
Inventory investment against targets
Supplier performance on cost and service

Qualifications:
Experience managing international supplier relationships with a focus on balancing cost and reliability.
Strong analytical skills in inventory and demand forecasting for supply optimization.
Effective negotiation skills for securing favorable supplier terms. Attention to detail and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to cross-functional collaboration. Adaptability and growth potential to assume broader responsibilities, including import operations.
