Director of Purchasing – Restaurant Operations
Only candidates with high volume food purchasing experience will be considered. 


Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Director of Purchasing to lead all purchasing and procurement operations for a high-volume restaurant organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience sourcing food, beverages, and restaurant supplies while managing vendor relationships, controlling costs, and ensuring product quality and availability across multiple locations.
This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in high-volume food purchasing, inventory management, contract negotiations, and supply chain operations within the restaurant or hospitality industry.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee purchasing strategies for food, beverages, equipment, and restaurant supplies.
  • Manage high-volume food procurement while maintaining quality, consistency, and cost efficiency.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with vendors and distributors.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable product availability.
  • Analyze purchasing trends, food costs, and market conditions to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with culinary and operations teams on menu planning, product sourcing, and seasonal purchasing.
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement best practices to reduce waste and control costs.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, company policies, and purchasing procedures.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team.
  • Prepare purchasing reports, forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics for executive leadership.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 7 - 10  years of purchasing leadership experience in the restaurant or foodservice industry.
  • 5 years of leadership/management experience 
  • Proven experience managing high-volume food purchasing for restaurants, hospitality groups, or foodservice operations.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Experience with inventory management systems and purchasing software.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities.

Experience
  • Multi-unit restaurant or hospitality purchasing experience.
  • Experience managing food cost initiatives and procurement budgets.
  • Knowledge of supply chain best practices and inventory optimization.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
