DIRECTOR OF QUALITY ASSURANCE AND FOOD SAFETY

Location: Long Grove, IL
Salary: $160,000.00 USD Annually - $180,000.00 USD Annually
Description: Our client is currently seeking a DIRECTOR OF QUALITY ASSURANCE AND FOOD SAFETY in IL.

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on leader to oversee all Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs for the organization.  The Director serves as the primary decision-maker on all quality and food safety matters and leads responses to any related incidents.

Key Responsibilities

Quality & Food Safety Leadership

• Establish strategic direction and execution plans for all quality and food safety initiatives across operations.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce robust quality policies, procedures, and programs.
• Act as the final authority for product disposition decisions and lead investigations during quality or food safety events.
• Build and promote a strong culture of proactive food safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance leadership within Ready to Eat, Sous Vide and raw protein manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, GMPs, HACCP, and quality management systems.
• HACCP certification required; SQF/PCQI certifications preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, regulated production environment.
