Director of Rehabilitation Services

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with medical and professional staff of other departments to plan/coordinate joint patient and management objectives.
  • Ensure optimal allocation of staff to workload ratios, to meet budgetary goals/objectives.
  • Ensure operational costs are within organizational goals.
  • Prepare departmental budget.
  • Coordinate departmental projects.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with organizational, departmental specific policies/procedures, safety and health standards, and state/federal regulations.
  • Display visionary leadership skills.
  • Serve a population newborn through geriatric.
  • Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values.
  • Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, and (5) years clinical experience.

Required License/Certifications/Registrations

  • Kansas license as a PT, OT, Speech Therapist, PTA, or COTA.
  • Current BLS/CPR card from approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation, whichever comes first.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master's degree in PT, OT, Speech Therapy OR a Masters in Health Sciences Administration.
  • 4-10 years of experience.

Preferred License/Certifications/Registrations

  • American Heart Association BLS.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge in the field of Rehab. Services, including patient assessment, treatment planning, and documentation.
  • Knowledge and commitment to the team approach to rehabilitation.
  • Effective leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities.
  • Ability to contribute to building a positive team spirit, both within the department and the organization.
  • Provide vision and inspiration to peers and subordinates.

Physical Requirements:

With or without accommodation.

  • Light Work: Occasionally exerting up to 25 lbs - frequently exerting up to 10 lbs. 11-25% of the day may be standing or walking.
