About the Company
Port Tampa Bay (PTB) is a leader in the maritime industry, Florida's largest and most diverse seaport, acting as the primary gateway for waterborne commerce in West Central Florida. It's a major economic engine with a significant economic impact and job creation, handling a wide variety of cargo including bulk, break-bulk, roll-on/roll-off, and container cargo. We also support cruise activities and ship repair facilities.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Risk Management to lead the strategic development and execution of enterprise risk management, safety, insurance, and loss control programs for Port Tampa Bay. This position will partner with executive leadership and the Board to identify, assess, and mitigate organizational risks while protecting critical assets, operations, employees, and the public. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this position exercises critical judgment and considerable initiative in administering all facets of risk management functions.

Incumbent must possess a current and valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator's License or capable of obtaining one within thirty days from the date of hire. Must successfully pass a seaport security background check.
Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily indoors though the employee will be required to go out of the office on from time to time. Employee will be in contact with chemicals (i.e., toner for copier and facsimile machines), and materials (i.e. paper) normally found at offices. Employee will also be exposed to minimal noise and vibration.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Frequent computer use. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
