Job Details

Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Safety in Phoenix to lead safety strategy and programs across major electrical construction projects in the Phoenix market. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a safety professional who can build strong field partnerships, drive accountability, and ensure compliance across complex projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement, and manage the company’s safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
2. Conduct regular safety audits on all ongoing construction projects to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
3. Train and educate employees on safety protocols and procedures to ensure understanding and compliance.
4. Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and other site supervisors to ensure safety measures are integrated into all work procedures.
5. Investigate accidents, identify their causes, and recommend changes in policies, procedures, or working conditions to prevent recurrences.
6. Stay updated on new regulations and standards of OSHA and other relevant safety bodies and implement them in the company's safety protocols.
7. Responsible for ensuring all safety equipment is in good working order and readily available.
8. Develop and maintain documentation to support the company’s safety initiatives, including accident reports, safety training records, and safety meeting minutes.

Qualifications:

1. At least 5+ years of experience in construction safety management.
2. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
3. Experience with large-scale, complex construction projects.
4. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
5. Ability to work effectively with project executives, superintendents, subcontractors, and field personnel.
6. OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training preferred.
7. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement workplace safety programs.
8. Proven track record in conducting safety audits and implementing corrective actions.
9. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
10. Ability to train and educate employees on safety protocols and procedures.
11. Proficiency in using safety inspection tools and equipment.
