Are you a passionate safety leader ready to build and lead a world-class safety program for a growing electrical construction company?

We are a well-respected electrical contractor specializing in commercial and mission-critical projects. We are seeking an experienced Director of Safety to lead from the front, develop a proactive safety culture, and drive continuous improvement across our operations.

This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role where you will play a critical part in protecting our team, reducing risk, and supporting safe, successful project delivery.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and own a comprehensive Safety Management System tailored to electrical construction
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Pre-Task Plans, and site-specific risk assessments
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA 1926, NFPA 70E, NEC, and all applicable regulations
  • Design and deliver high-quality safety training programs for field personnel and leadership
  • Oversee the Learning Management System (LMS) and track certifications
  • Lead a team of safety professionals while mentoring internal talent
  • Perform regular job site audits, safety walks, and inspections
  • Collaborate with project teams during pre-construction to integrate safety into planning
  • Analyze safety metrics (TRIR, DART, near-misses) and present insights to leadership
  • Champion a proactive, behavior-based safety culture across the organization

Location: Phoenix, AZ Area (with regular travel to job sites)

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of safety experience in electrical or construction industries, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, and construction safety best practices
  • Hands-on experience with energized work, trenching, confined spaces, and elevated work
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs
  • OSHA 500 and OSHA 510 certifications required
  • OSHA 30 (Construction) and First Aid/CPR Instructor certification required
  • CSP, CHST, CUSP, or equivalent preferred
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as needed
