The director''s function is to enable all students to utilize their educational opportunities to the fullest by assisting them with those problems that prevent or interfere with learning and providing sound educational programs for traditionally underserved students.
Essential job duties:
Work with the district level administration in developing and implementing the philosophy of student services into the total school program
Work with the district level in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of student services programs (e.g., special education and related services, school counseling, school psychology, health services)
Prepare and administer the student services budget.
Direct evaluations and programming for students, including the identification, diagnosis, follow-up, and referral of students with problems related to attendance, mental health, or exceptional educational needs
Implement all legal requirements, regulations, and policies required for special education and student services programs
Work collaboratively with district administration to hire student services staff.
Supervise and evaluate student services staff.
Assist in planning and providing professional development for district-level staff.
