A Director of Sterile Processing opportunity is available in Asheville, NC at a flagship regional medical center serving western North Carolina. The department supports a broad scope of surgical and procedural service lines and operates at a scale that demands experienced, senior-level leadership.

The role. Reporting to the VP of Surgical Services, the Director oversees a sterile processing department of approximately 80 FTEs organized under 7 Team Leads. The department supports Endoscopy, the main OR, Cardiovascular OR, Labor and Delivery, and both inpatient and outpatient ambulatory clinics, using SPM Workflow as its primary management platform. The Director is responsible for day-to-day operational oversight across all service lines, driving performance in instrument processing quality, infection control standards, and workflow throughput. This role requires hands-on leadership of a large team within an acute care environment and direct collaboration with perioperative and surgical services leadership.

What we're looking for.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Nursing, or completion of a two-year Surgical Technology program
  • Current Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) / IAHCSMM certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of sterile processing experience in an acute care setting
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in Central Sterile Processing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operating room instrumentation, aseptic technique, and infection control principles

Schedule. Full-time, days, with rotating weekends.

Compensation. $110,000 - $170,000 per year plus $18 sign-on bonus
