Job Description

National Taxpayers Union (NTU) & National Taxpayers Union Foundation (NTUF)are seeking a Director of Strategic Partnerships to help lead fundraising and external engagement efforts in support of our mission to advocate for lower taxes, limited government, and free markets. The Director of Strategic Partnerships will report to the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships.

The expected salary range is $90,000 to $125,000. This is a hybrid position based out of our Washington, DC office, with at least three days per week spent in office. The Director of Strategic Partnerships will attend meetings and events in the Washington, DC metropolitan area (on average, one evening event per week) and will be expected to travel out of state for donor meetings (approximately six to twelve times per year).

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of primarily business and foundation donors
  • Secure and renew five- and six-figure gifts to support NTU/NTUF priorities
  • Prospect for new business and foundation donors to support NTU/NTUF priorities
  • Draft proposals, grant reports, and donor communications
  • Translate policy work into compelling materials for external audiences
  • Coordinate with policy staff to align funding with programmatic work
  • Plan and execute donor events, briefings, and engagement opportunities
  • Maintain donor pipeline and activity tracking in Salesforce and Hubspot
  • Represent NTU/NTUF in meetings with external stakeholders

Ideal Qualifications Include:

  • 5+ years of experience in fundraising, development, or external affairs
  • Familiarity with, and interest in, our mission to advocate for lower taxes, limited government, and free markets or a willingness to learn
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Ability to convey complex policy issues clearly
  • Highly organized with strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities
