Job Summary
The Director of Summer Programming and Community Engagement serves as a public-facing leader and welcoming point of connection for K–8 students and their families. Through summer programming, middle school initiatives, camps, clinics, and year-round events, the Director introduces families to Carondelet and creates meaningful opportunities to experience the school’s community beyond the traditional enrollment pathway.
Reporting to the Director of Enrollment and Engagement, the Director partners with Academic, Student Life, Athletics, and Communications teams to develop, manage, and promote engaging programs. The role requires exceptional written and verbal communication with parents, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to create social media marketing content and collaborate on event outreach strategies.

Essential Responsibilities
Develop and lead summer programming and year-round community engagement initiatives in partnership with Enrollment and Engagement, Academics, Student Life, Athletics, and Communications.
Plan and manage programs and events that welcome K–8 students and families to campus, including summer offerings, middle school initiatives, camps, and clinics.
Recruit, mentor, and prepare high school students to serve as camp counselors and middle school event leaders, building their confidence, communication skills, and ability to guide younger students.
Serve as a visible, approachable school representative who builds trust with parents through engaging presentations, personal conversations, and timely, thoughtful written communication.
Build relationships with elementary and middle schools, parent communities, and community organizations to introduce new families to Carondelet’s programs and opportunities.
Participate actively in school life and ensure programs reflect Carondelet’s Catholic mission, core values, and commitment to a welcoming community.
Create compelling social media content and parent-facing promotional materials in partnership with the Communications team, maintaining a consistent school voice and brand.
Partner with Communications to strategize event promotion, identify student and family audiences, and coordinate messaging, outreach channels, and timelines.
Collaborate with Academic and Student Life teams to identify new ways to engage prospective families through learning, leadership, entrepreneurship, and community experiences.
Help lead campus initiatives with potential middle school connections, including Carondelet Ventures, hackathons, and parent evenings for middle school families.
Support the Director of Enrollment and Engagement in expanding community connections, generating prospective family interest, and meeting participation and revenue goals.
Support the Engagement team as needed with day of event support.
Administrative/Technical Responsibilities
Develop an annual programming and outreach calendar with school partners, aligning events with school priorities, staffing, facilities, and family interests.
Help lead Carondelet Ventures and coordinate with Academic and Student Life teams on hackathons, parent evenings, and other initiatives; develop age-appropriate middle school participation where feasible.
Write clear, engaging program descriptions, emails, registration instructions, and event updates; respond promptly and professionally to parent questions and concerns.
Oversee summer offerings, including middle school enrichment, camps and clinics, high school remediation and advancement, bridge courses, and approved third-party programs.
Prepare orientation materials and train camp counselors, specialty teachers, and summer staff in program expectations, student supervision, and family communication.
Manage registration, participant data, class rosters, schedules, attendance, and behavioral expectations to create an organized, welcoming experience for students and families.
Partner with Academic and Learning Support staff to communicate remediation needs to families and place students in appropriate summer courses.
Recruit, hire, and supervise camp counselors, specialty teachers, and summer faculty to meet program needs. Oversee daily operations, address student and parent concerns, and partner with school personnel to implement policies and support positive student growth.
Monitor summer remediation progress, prepare completion summaries, and coordinate final grades with the Data Analyst and appropriate Academic staff.
Coordinate with Technology staff to provide students and faculty with learning management system access and other necessary technology resources.
Develop and monitor summer program and event budgets, coordinate facility use, and manage resources to support participation and revenue goals.
Maintain and manage accurate databases of program participants and prospective families, track engagement, generate reports to inform outreach and programming decisions, and coordinate timely, targeted communication with students and families.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, marketing, business, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.
Experience recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising program staff and developing student leaders; strong program planning and budgeting skills.
Experience in an educational or youth-serving setting, preferably with elementary, middle, and/or high school students and families.
Strong written communication, public speaking, and parent relationship skills; proficiency with registration platforms, learning management systems, and participant data.
Experience creating social media marketing content and promoting programs or events; ability to collaborate across teams and support the mission of a Catholic, all-girls school.
