SIFCO Industries, Inc., a premier publicly held supplier to the aerospace industry located in Cleveland, OH, seeks a qualified Director of Supply Chain. Reporting to the CEO, this role is responsible for managing their staff and key systems to supply good product, on-time to commitment to SIFCO's customer base. The Supply Chain Director owns the Planning and Purchasing functions and performance to expectations in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure delivery of good product, on-time to facility commitments to customer base.
  • Direct the Planning and Purchasing functions.
  • Mentor and motivate team in achievement of all Goals and Objectives.
  • Key metrics include Safety, quality, on time delivery, customer scorecard ratings, working capital and annual cost reduction.
  • Must embrace Lean - 6 Sigma manufacturing vision and thrive in a team environment with stringent regulatory requirements and high-performance expectations.
  • Key deliverables by function shown below. All other duties assigned.

Key Planning Deliverables

  • Lead business SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operational Planning) process through backlog management, planning analytics, material management and cross functional coordination.
  • Develop and sustain MRP scheduling and capacity utilization systems to optimize on-time delivery and manufacturing productivity
  • Provide dispatch tools and guidance to all shop floor planning functions to ensure dispatch adherence.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Account Management, Quality and Engineering to generate accurate customer commitments on all orders and detailed processing milestones, if necessary.
  • Utilize TOC (Theory of Constraints) to ensure efficient, level-loaded production to meet customer commitments.

Key Account Management Deliverables

  • Drive consistent, thorough and documented Order Book reviews procedures with all key customers.
  • Ownership of all Customer Scorecard systems.
  • Ensure high levels of responsiveness to customer needs and positive market feedback.

Key Purchasing Deliverables

  • Manage all aspects of raw material, outside services and MRO Purchasing through both direct and indirect buyers in the organization
  • Manage Sub-tier Risk Assessment and Scorecard system to ensure On-time Delivery of good product to SIFCO.
  • Maintain approved supplier list in collaboration with Quality department.
  • Execute annual cost and lead time reduction plans.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree technical discipline strongly preferred
  • Three to five years of LEAN application and deployment
  • Three to five years managing SIOP process in a manufacturing environment
  • ERP "super-user" with specific strength in building and managing strong MRP systems
  • Minimum five years in an industrial setting with job-shop environment experience preferred
  • Strong internal personnel and communication skills with experience facilitating training and LEAN/Six Sigma events

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong PC application skills (Access, MS Project, Excel, Minitab, etc).
  • New Product Introduction to manufacturing experience.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, creative, innovative and people oriented.
  • Self-starter, strong management skills, logical problem solver, team player.
  • Demonstrated focus on program schedule commitments / cost awareness.
  • P&L management experience is a plus.
  • Experience in managing department compliance to AS9100/ISO or equivalent Quality Systems
  • Third party manufacturing / global sourcing / tooling experience.
  • Workplace Safety assurance program knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
