Description:
We are seeking a Director of Supply Chain & Procurement to lead all aspects of sourcing, procurement, production planning, inventory management, supplier quality, logistics, and delivery assurance for a precision aerospace manufacturing operation.

This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for developing long-term supply chain strategies while ensuring the day-to-day execution needed to support manufacturing operations and customer delivery commitments.

Candidates coming from roles such as Supply Chain Manager, Strategic Sourcing Manager, Procurement Manager, Commodity Manager, Senior Buyer, or Materials Manager within an aerospace manufacturing environment are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic supply chain initiatives that support business growth
• Lead procurement, planning, inventory control, and logistics functions
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, and performance
• Improve supplier quality through audits, corrective actions, and development initiatives
• Drive on-time delivery through KPI management and supplier capacity planning
• Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Optimize ERP/MRP systems and planning processes
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and applicable aerospace and defense requirements
• Mentor and develop a high-performing supply chain team

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of progressive supply chain, procurement, or strategic sourcing experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment. Recent aerospace experience is required.
• Experience supporting procurement, supplier management, planning, inventory, or manufacturing operations in a regulated aerospace or defense environment.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating supplier contracts, managing supplier performance, and driving cost, quality, and delivery improvements.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production planning processes.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Operations.
• Familiarity with AS9100, ITAR, and aerospace manufacturing requirements.
• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
• Must be located within a reasonable commuting distance of Windsor, CT or be willing to relocate prior to start.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with aerospace machining, precision manufacturing, or complex component manufacturing.
• Exposure to supplier quality processes such as PPAP, FAI, SCARs, or special processes.
• APICS (CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD), CPSM, or Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
• Previous experience leading projects, mentoring team members, or serving as an informal leader. Direct people management experience is beneficial but not required.
