Position Overview:

The Director of Technical Services, F&B, has a critical field-based role responsible for supporting food and beverage customers, with an emphasis on poultry processing. This role requires deep poultry processing and antimicrobial application knowledge, 50–70% travel, with the expectation of being on-site at customers facilities on a weekly basis to support the business. Reporting to Commercial Leadership, this individual will interface directly with plant-level operations, food safety teams, and existing corporate customers, providing hands-on technical support, microbial mapping, data analysis, and equipment maintenance, while
overseeing a team of remote field technicians who are tasked with day-to-day operational tasks at our customer sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Remote and Field Team Leadership: Lead, direct, and mentor a remote team of field technicians to deliver top-tier customer service across client accounts. Oversee team operations supporting account management initiatives, routine and emergency equipment maintenance, and raw material inventory management at plant facilities to optimize overall customer satisfaction and operational uptime.
Technical Customer Support: Support poultry processing customers utilizing comprehensive poultry processing and antimicrobial application knowledge to optimize microbial reduction efforts and problem solve when challenges arise.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and service antimicrobial dosing equipment directly at plant facilities.

Cross-Functional Communication and Leadership Reporting: Communicate and collaborate effectively with plant-level operations and food safety teams, while aligning technical outcomes with internal Commercial and Operational Leadership.
Plant Installs and Technical Validation: Coordinate with plant operations and internal teams to facilitate successful plant installations, chemical storage solutions and ensure proper chemical application.
Operational Market Intelligence: Monitor plant-level operational trends, regulatory shifts, and technical feedback to optimize customer success.
Biomapping and Microbial Analysis: Design and execute comprehensive biomapping programs within customer facilities to identify microbial hot spots, validate antimicrobial intervention performance, and optimize antimicrobial applications.
Data Collection and Reporting: Systematically gather operational, chemical, and microbiological data across processing lines. Translate raw field data into actionable insights and trend analyses to support continuous improvement.
  Customer Data Presentation: Present technical findings, performance metrics and biomapping results directly to existing customers and facility leadership to demonstrate value and drive
account retention.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Industry Expertise: Minimum 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in commercial
poultry processing, food safety, antimicrobial intervention programs, technical services, or related plant operations.
Leadership and Field Management: Proven experience leading, mentoring, and managing a team of remote field technicians or service personnel across multiple customer locations. Track record of optimizing field team schedules to continually deliver high level customer support.
Technical and Analytical Skills: Proven ability to collect field data, conduct biomapping studies, analyze complex technical metrics, and troubleshoot, service, and maintain industrial chemical dosing equipment.
Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional ability to build relationships, present data-driven solutions to existing commercial customers, and communicate effectively with both plant operations and executive leadership.
Regulatory and Chemical Acumen: Comfort navigating regulatory frameworks (such as USDA FSIS Directive 7120.1 or FCN mechanisms) and FDA-regulated intervention processing aids.
Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel heavily as required to plant sites, corporate offices, and industry events.
