The Big Picture
This is a specialty insurance platform operating across dealer solutions and underwriting programs, backed by a strong balance sheet and active growth across multiple verticals. The organization is continuing to build out its underwriting leadership layer in Overland Park, aligning underwriting, program strategy, and distribution more tightly within a centralized model designed for scale.
The Mission
Step into a leadership role where you own either a defined underwriting program or a broader portfolio segment. This role exists to bring structure, profitability, and strategic direction to a growing book—while maintaining close alignment between underwriting decisions, distribution flow, and long-term performance.
The Daily Grind (The Good Kind)
- Portfolio Ownership: Oversee a book or program with full visibility into performance, profitability, and growth strategy
- Underwriting Leadership: Guide risk selection, structure deals, and maintain underwriting discipline across your segment
- Program / Segment Strategy: Shape how the business scales within your vertical while protecting long-term portfolio health
- Distribution Alignment: Maintain close coordination with broker and internal distribution channels to ensure consistent deal flow
- Team Influence: Act as a decision point for underwriting structure, mentorship, and market alignment
Your Toolkit
- The Battle Scars: 10–20+ years in underwriting, MGA, or specialty environments with exposure to program or portfolio responsibility
- Technical Mastery: Strong underwriting judgment with experience managing risk at scale
- Strategic Lens: Ability to think beyond individual deals and drive outcomes across a broader book
- Communication Edge: Comfortable operating between underwriting teams, leadership, and external partners
The Payoff
- Professional Autonomy: Real ownership over a book or program—not just participation in it
- Culture & Trajectory: Platform is actively investing in underwriting leadership, with room to expand scope, responsibility, and segment influence
- Competitive Package: 150K – 250K+ total comp with strong base plus variable upside tied directly to performance, book results, and program growth
