We are seeking a Director of Operations to lead our client’s Fiber Construction business across the Northern New Jersey region. This executive-level role oversees operational strategy, business development support, project delivery, financial performance, and client success for large-scale wireline programs. The ideal candidate brings extensive OSP/Fiber Construction expertise, strong customer relationships, and proven P&L leadership.
This position requires exceptional operational acumen, a disciplined approach to execution, and the ability to collaborate across internal teams while driving organizational excellence. This is a hybrid role -2 Days in the office with some regional travel required.
Compensation: $165k -$185k DoE
Role Overview
The Director –Operations –Fiber will oversee all program execution, regional financial performance, and operational leadership for fiber construction activities. This leader ensures that client expectations are consistently met, projects are delivered on time and within budget, and internal processes align with strategic business objectives. The role requires deep knowledge of OSP/Fiber build processes, strong communication skills, and the ability to cultivate long-term customer and partner relationships.
Duties & Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Delivery
Oversee and ensure the successful delivery and execution of customer programs and projects, maximizing profitability and operational performance.
Manage daily operations and financial activities to ensure client programs align with organizational and regional financial goals.
Lead Project Managers in the execution of implementation projects, ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and budgetary requirements are met.
Review and interpret client contracts to ensure operational alignment, compliance, and accurate project financial structures.
Monitor and guide Project Managers’handling of project budgets, change orders, and scope management.
Business Development & Client Engagement
Support and drive business development initiatives for wireline services, partnering closely with the sales team to expand service offerings and customer base.
Maintain and strengthen strong internal and external working relationships with clients, vendors, partners, and cross-functional teams.
Prepare bids and proposals, including RFPs, RFQs, and unsolicited project opportunities.
Ensure delivery of accurate, high-quality, client-ready materials across operational functions.
Financial Ownership
Own the full P&L responsibility for the region, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance metrics.
Collaborate with Project Managers and the PMO office on timely processing of all project financials, including PORs, POs, invoices, and related workflows.
Systems, Data, & Tools
Partner with Project Managers and internal Tools teams to enhance data flow, integration, and accuracy between client systems and internal platforms.
Oversee operational adherence to workflow platforms such as Salesforce, Sitetracker, Smartsheets, QuickBase, Sage, or Oracle.

10+ years of experience in OSP/Fiber Construction with emphasis on director-level or senior operational/program management roles.
Established customer relationships in the Northern NJ region.
Strong background in project financials, budgeting, forecasting, and P&L leadership.
Supervisory experience leading operational teams and project managers.
Proven ability to deploy and manage large-scale fiber network builds.
Strong experience in construction operations supporting installation and implementation projects.
Exceptional attention to detail, especially regarding project financial accuracy.
Excellent organizational and communication skills;capable of managing day-to-day operations with professionalism.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Proficient with workflow and project management platforms (Salesforce, Sitetracker, Smartsheets, QuickBase, Sage, Oracle).
