POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES Under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Perioperative and Procedural Areas, and in collaboration with the Directors at the ASCs, the Director of Ambulatory Surgical Services is responsible for the operational, financial, and strategic leadership of University Healths Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC). This position oversees daily operations, perioperative workflows, patient throughput, staffing, scheduling, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and quality outcomes for all ambulatory surgical center locations. The Director ensures efficient, safe, and patientâ€'centered operations that support highâ€'quality surgical care, physician satisfaction, and organizational growth. The Director leads business planning, productivity monitoring, performance improvement initiatives, and development of new service lines. The role collaborates closely with perioperative nursing leadership, anesthesia, surgeons, GI physicians, support services, and administrative leaders to optimize operational performance and enhance the patient experience. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree in Health Care Administration, Nursing, Business Administration, or related field is required.Masters degree in Health Care Administration, Nursing, Business, Public Health, or related field is highly preferred. Five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, perioperative services, GI endoscopy operations, or related procedural environments is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of perioperative workflows, regulatory requirements, quality metrics, and financial management is required. Experience with business planning, budgeting, productivity analysis, and performance improvement methodologies (LEAN, NAIP, etc.) is preferred. Strong proficiency with computer applications such as Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and electronic health record systems is essential.
