Director-Pipeline Integrity Project Management

Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. We own an interest in or operate approximately 84,000 miles of pipelines and 157 terminals. This position is responsible to lead the Pipeline Integrity Project Management team, a team of 18 employees and contractors focused on managing projects in support of our pipeline integrity objectives. These projects could include anomaly remediation digs, pipeline hydrostatic testing, installation of remotely monitored valves, small pipe replacements, and launcher and receiver installations and modifications among others.  This individual will be responsible for driving the successful completion of assigned projects across the United States within cost and schedule constraints and with an adherence to federal, state, and local regulations including DOT and FERC regulations, as well as Kinder Morgan Standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead professional and administrative personnel.
• Develop and improve personnel, processes, standards, and procedures.
• Help develop and guide 3 subordinate managers and assist with their growth and career development.
• Manage not only the performance of the Project Managers and their team members, but direct and control the execution of Expense and Sustaining projects.
• Ensure Kinder Morgan safety culture is maintained and incorporated into projects, contractors, and project teams.
• Work directly with other Pipeline Integrity leaders to ensure that the projects are developed and managed in a way that meets the integrity goals of Kinder Morgan.
• Promote open and continuous communication between various customers, departments, and personnel.
• Hold team members accountable for their performance in support of projects.
• Lead special projects to streamline and simplify company processes and procedures.
• Supervise the monthly forecasting efforts of the PMs.
• Meet with stakeholders to achieve, manage, and maintain business goals.
• Participate in the annual project selection and budgeting process.
• Review in detail and approve all estimates generated by the team.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor of Science in Engineering strongly preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience in Project Management and/or Engineering in the Oil and Gas Industry.
• Proven experience in management of multiple professional and administrative personnel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project software.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations:

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Office working environment with occasional (up to 10%) travel to project sites and to other offices across the United States.

Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:

• PMP certification.
• Experience in Project Management relating to pipeline industry.
• Familiar with the goals and concepts of pipeline integrity.

The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
