Who You'll Work With

Slalom Launch builds and scales modern digital products and platforms, partnering with clients and internal ventures to take ideas from concept through market-ready execution. This role is a senior technical leadership position within Slalom Launch, responsible for the architecture, technical direction, and engineering execution of a strategic, cloud-native SaaS platform. That platform serves as the operating foundation for a portfolio of products and is built using modern, AI-enabled engineering practices. You will serve as the senior technical counterpart to product leadership, co-owning platform strategy, technical vision, and delivery outcomes while leading a core engineering team based in Guadalajara and collaborating with partners across Slalom's global markets.

What You Will Do

• Serve as the senior technical leader and chief architect for a strategic SaaS platform, owning end-to-end architecture across infrastructure, application, data, and security.
• Partner directly with product leadership to co-define platform vision, technical roadmap, and investment trade-offs, ensuring alignment between product strategy and technical execution.
• Lead and evolve a multi-disciplinary engineering team, including architects, engineers, DevOps, and QA, with direct responsibility for technical standards, delivery quality, and team health.
• Remain hands-on where it matters, particularly in early-stage architecture, critical design decisions, and complex technical problem-solving.
• Establish and enforce modern engineering practices, including cloud-native architecture patterns, multi-tenant SaaS design, security-by-design, reliability, cost-aware engineering, and the thoughtful use of AI-assisted development tools to improve quality and delivery speed.
• Own technical decision-making across discovery, design, and delivery, balancing speed of execution with long-term platform scalability and maintainability.
• Guide the team through platform evolution, including refactoring existing capabilities, introducing new services, and scaling the platform as adoption and complexity grow, while exploring emerging technologies and AI-driven approaches where they create real platform advantage.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, delivery, and market leaders to shape solutions, sequence work, and manage technical and delivery risk.
• Act as a technical mentor and leader, developing engineers and architects and building a strong engineering culture grounded in quality, ownership, and accountability.
• Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and team composition decisions as the platform and organization scale.
• Engage with internal stakeholders and, when appropriate, external partners to represent the platform's technical direction, maturity, and long-term viability.

What You Will Bring

• Proven experience serving as a senior technical leader for a SaaS or platform-based product, with accountability extending beyond individual projects.
• Deep expertise in modern software architecture, including distributed systems, multi-tenant platforms, and cloud-native design.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and delivering solutions on AWS, including services related to compute, networking, security, data, and observability.
• Practical experience incorporating AI-enabled tools or approaches into software delivery workflows, with a focus on improving developer effectiveness, code quality, and system reliability.
• Experience leading and growing engineering teams, including direct people leadership, technical mentorship, and setting engineering standards.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with product leadership as a peer, contributing to roadmap decisions, technical trade-offs, and long-term platform strategy.
• Experience navigating platform scale challenges such as performance, reliability, security, cost optimization, and operational maturity.
• Solid understanding of modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, and agile delivery.
• Background working across application, infrastructure, and data concerns rather than specializing narrowly in a single layer.
• Familiarity with knowledge graphs, semantic models, or similar approaches for organizing and applying complex product and operational context is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A builder's mindset, comfortable operating in environments where the platform is evolving and not everything is fully defined.

Location and Collaboration Model

You will work closely with product, design, and leadership counterparts based in the United States and other Slalom markets, operating in a highly collaborative, cross-geography model.
