We are seeking an exceptional Director, Technical Product Management - External Services to join AWS Networking Services. This role will drive product strategy and execution across high impact areas such as Cloud Networking, Edge Security, Application networking, and Content Delivery Network. About the Role As Director of Technical Product Management for External Services, you will lead a team of product managers responsible for defining and delivering the next generation of AWS networking capabilities that connect customers to AWS and enable global content delivery. You will own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for services that handle trillions of requests daily and power some of the world's largest and most demanding applications. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will: - Define product strategy for AWS's external networking services portfolio, balancing customer needs, technical innovation, and business objectives - Lead and develop a team of senior product managers, fostering a culture of customer obsession, innovation, and operational excellence - Drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, sales, marketing, support, and partner teams to deliver integrated solutions - Engage directly with customers including enterprise customers, ISVs, and AWS's largest accounts to understand requirements and validate solutions - Own business outcomes including revenue growth, customer adoption, market positioning, and competitive differentiation - Shape industry direction by influencing standards bodies, technology partnerships, and ecosystem development Key job responsibilities - Lead and develop a team of senior product managers across multiple network services - Define product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for external network services - Drive cross-functional execution with engineering, sales, marketing, and support teams - Own business outcomes including revenue growth, customer adoption, and market positioning - Engage with enterprise customers and partners to understand requirements and validate solutions - Make high-judgment trade-offs between features, technical debt, and time-to-market - Manage P&L responsibility and drive operational excellence Basic Qualifications - 15+ years of product management or related experience in technical products/services - 5+ years of people management experience, leading teams of product managers or technical leaders - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent work experience - Deep understanding of networking technologies, protocols, and architectures (TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, CDN, VPN, etc.) - Proven track record of delivering successful products in cloud computing, networking, or infrastructure services - Experience managing P&L and driving business outcomes for technical products - Strong technical depth with ability to engage in architectural discussions with engineering teams - Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and drive organizational alignment Preferred Qualifications - MBA or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - Experience with AWS or other major cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) - Background in networking, content delivery, or distributed systems at scale - Track record of building and leading high-performing product management teams - Experience in fast-paced, high-growth technology companies - Strong understanding of enterprise customer needs and buying processes - Experience with global products serving diverse customer segments and geographies - Proven ability to drive innovation while maintaining operational excellence - Executive presence and communication skills for engaging with C-level customers and internal leadership - Experience influencing industry standards or technology partnerships Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
