Title: Director, Portfolio Manager Lender Finance (Private Credit)

Office Status: Onsite New York, NY (5 Days)

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a Director-level Portfolio Manager opportunity within the Credit Portfolio Management function of a well-established global financial institution, offering full ownership of a large-scale middle market loan and private credit portfolio spanning LBO-backed direct lending transactions across Technology and Business Services verticals. The role sits within the front office commercially aligned with origination and distribution rather than a pure control function making it a genuine principal seat where the PM issues binding credit opinions, carries an NBI budget, and actively manages portfolio risk and distribution strategy. It's the right fit for a seasoned private credit professional who is independently capable, polished enough to engage directly with clients and institutional counterparties, and senior enough to operate without supervision in a high-visibility, globally connected environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Issue binding credit opinions at origination covering credit risk, profitability, and regulatory capital treatment;participate in weekly pre-screen processes with origination and distribution teams
  • Own and actively manage the booked portfolio;track KPIs including commitments, RWA, NBI, and ECL;carry an NBI budget based on portfolio carry
  • Execute ongoing credit work across the portfolio including amendments, waivers, annual and quarterly reviews, and limit and usage monitoring;participate actively in annual risk committee cycles where limits and guidelines are set
  • Coordinate distribution and risk mitigation strategies including secondary sales, participations, credit insurance, and SRT solutions;engage directly with regulators on portfolio-related matters
  • Attend industry meetings and engage with institutional clients on portfolio management matters alongside coverage teams;prepare diligence requests and lender questions
  • Develop and monitor early warning indicators;contribute to enhanced collateral reporting and aggregation across the middle market loan book
