POSITION SUMMARY:
Advanced Energy is seeking an accomplished Director of Power Semiconductor Device to provide technical and organizational leadership for semiconductor component quality, reliability, failure analysis, and root cause corrective action (RCCA) activities across all business units.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Power Semiconductor Device, this role serves as the technical leader of the Power Semiconductor Device organization, with responsibility for guiding and developing a team of highly specialized professionals, including Power Semiconductor Device Engineers and Data Analysts. The Director will lead the identification and resolution of complex semiconductor-related quality and reliability issues impacting Advanced Energy products, customers, and manufacturing operations.
This position combines deep technical expertise in Si, SiC, and GaN power semiconductor technologies with strong leadership capabilities to drive enterprise-wide problem solving, supplier engagement, reliability improvements, and strategic initiatives. The role has the succession path of developing into the Senior Director.

Define best practices for semiconductor selection, application, qualification, derating, and reliability assessment.
Provide technical leadership for emerging semiconductor technologies and strategic component roadmaps.
Supplier Quality & Executive Engagement
Manufacturing & Product Quality Support
Data Analytics & Continuous Improvement
Strategic Planning & Succession Development

Strong expertise in:
Failure Analysis
Root Cause Analysis
Reliability Engineering
RCCA / 8D Methodologies
Corrective and Preventive Actions
Comprehensive understanding of semiconductor wafer fabrication, assembly, packaging, and test operations.
Strong knowledge of reliability testing includes:
HTOL
HTRB
HTGB
Temperature Cycling
Power Cycling
HAST
THB
Extensive experience with bench-level stress testing to replicate field failures and validate root cause hypotheses.
Strong understanding of power supply design, application derating, thermal management, and system-level interactions.

COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $185,000 to $215,000 per year.
