We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Director of Procurement to join our team. This is a pivotal role that will shape and drive our procurement strategy, ensuring our construction projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex procurement processes, with a keen eye for detail and a strategic mindset.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with our business objectives.
  • Manage the entire procurement process, from sourcing to contract negotiation and management.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost optimization strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Oversee supply chain operations to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Lead and manage the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts to secure favourable terms and conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor market trends and adapt procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify procurement needs and specifications.
  • Develop and manage the procurement budget, providing regular reports to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a procurement role within the construction industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree will be considered an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing, cost optimization, and supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record of successful contract management.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of the construction industry, including market trends, materials, and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and other relevant IT systems.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical procurement practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
