Summary



The Director Product Management will report to the VP of Digital Merchandising & Content and is responsible for the innovation, optimization, and lifecycle management of Freeman's structures, furniture, fixtures, and flooring product portfolio nationwide. This role owns the strategy and evolution of modular build systems, including FLEX, Freeman's innovative exhibition and event build system.


The Director will lead product innovation initiatives across the organization, develop business cases, manage product positioning and pricing strategies, and oversee the creation of an industry-leading product portfolio that drives revenue and profitability. This individual will partner closely with internal stakeholders and external resources to enhance existing offerings, launch new products, reduce development and ownership costs, and identify opportunities for standardization and efficiency across the Freeman Company network. The role serves as the strategic bridge between customer needs, business objectives, product innovation, and portfolio performance.


This position will support our Commerce Merchandising team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show site 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be based out of any of the following locations:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities



+ Create competitive, innovative product mix to increase both revenue and profitability for structures, furniture, fixtures and flooring categories

+ Establish master product matrix by category to include customer segmentation, product requirements, features, certifications, pricing, sustainability and containerization specifications

+ Charter ongoing market and consumer research. Responsible for staying ahead of new and emerging trends and providing recommendations for existing product enhancements and new innovation opportunities

+ Create clearly defined merchandising and pricing strategies to include upsell and cross sell opportunities

+ Responsible for the entire product lifecycle including phase out

+ Plan and execute cross-functional team workshops, meetings and customer showcases

+ Collaborate with procurement on domestic and global vendor partnership development and management

+ Develop business case for all products in development in partnership with cross-functional leads

+ Support product claims and protect intellectual property through collaboration with legal department

+ Develop sales collateral to support all product launches partnering with marketing and creative

+ Create and implement product training process across the enterprise - Growth, Design and Delivery Support all customer product presentations as required

+ Perform other duties as assigned


Education & Experience



+ Bachelor’s degree preferred, High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience required

+ 10-15+ years related product development experience or equivalent

+ Product Development Management Association certification preferred

+ Trade show, retail, or hospitality industry experience preferred

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels in the organization

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
