About the job

The Discover and Gmail Ads team represent a fast-growing slice of Google's Ads business. This team is on a journey to build these growing properties by balancing advertiser performance with a strong "user-first" mandate.

The Google Ads team is seeking a Director of Product Management to lead the Discover and Gmail Ads businesses. You will own the product roadmap for delivering the best possible ads experience for users, and the greatest possible value for advertisers. Both surfaces are in growth mode, and you will be responsible for the entire user-side experience, from auction and quality to inventory and formats. You will lead a team of 9 product managers and will ultimately be responsible to grow the combined business.

Users come first at Google. Nowhere is this more important than on our Advertising and Commerce team: we believe that ads and commercial information can be highly useful to our users if that information is relevant to what our users wish to find or do. Advertisers worldwide use Google Ads to promote their products; publishers use AdSense to serve relevant ads on their website; and business around the world use our products (like Google Shopping, and Google Wallet) to support their online businesses and bring users into their offline stores. We are constantly innovating to deliver the most effective advertising and commerce opportunities of tomorrow.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $281000 - $392000 (USD) + 30% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Work closely with the Gmail and Discover consumer teams to drive a joint organic product strategy that adds value to users, not just advertisers.
  • Synthesize and drive product strategy from interactions with business stakeholders to our Legal and Policy teams.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams across Google Ads to advocate for and execute your vision.
