XIn accordance with Washington state law, we are highlighting our comprehensive benefits package, which is available to all eligible US based employees. Benefits for this role include:

  • Paid Time Off: 20 days of vacation per year, accruing at a rate of 6.15 hours per pay period for the first five years of employment
  • Sick Time: 40 hours/year (increased to 69 hours/year for Seattle) including 5 discretionary sick days per instance
  • Maternity Leave (Short-Term Disability + Baby Bonding): 28-30 weeks
  • Baby Bonding Leave: 18 weeks
  • Holidays: 13 paid days per year

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor"s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in product management or relevant experience, with a focus on enterprise software, cloud technologies, or security products.
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies and their application in real-world products.
  • Experience setting product vision and strategy for a product area.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and a passion for solving complex problems.
  • Excellent communication, people, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and align senior leaders and large teams.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling innovative, large-scale products.

As the Product Management SecOps Detection Leader you will be a part of Google Cloud Security. This organization, also known as GUSTO (Google Unified SecOps and Threat Operations), is at the forefront of creating a unified, AI-powered security platform.

The organization is responsible for the strategy and development of our entire security product portfolio. The mission is to transform our extensive security expertise and threat intelligence into products that empower customers to defend themselves against evolving cyber threats.

The organization is making significant investments in artificial intelligence, with a goal of integrating AI into the core of its product. You will be instrumental in this effort, shaping the future of AI in Google"s security products.

This is a unique opportunity to define the future of cybersecurity by leveraging Google"s vast resources and cutting-edge AI to identify and anticipate the world"s most complex security threats. In this role, you will be at the forefront of innovation, translating groundbreaking AI research into dynamic detection mechanisms. Your work will directly empower organizations to spot zero-day threats and sophisticated adversary tactics in real-time, fundamentally shifting the Security Operations Center (SOC) from reactive to proactive.

As a Product Manager at Google, you could be working on new technologies, platforms, consumer facing products, and/or enterprise systems. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $281000 - $392000 (USD) + 30% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Lead the product vision for Google SecOps detection capabilities by prioritizing artificial intelligence and machine learning over traditional rules-based heuristics, driving the evolution toward an autonomous SOC.

  • Collaborate closely with AI researchers, data scientists, and security engineering teams to develop and train dynamic detection models capable of identifying zero-day threats and sophisticated adversary tactics in real-time.

  • Design intelligent, automated workflows that leverage Generative AI to provide instant context, automate triage, and recommend remediation steps, fundamentally reducing cognitive load for security analysts.

  • Lead the integration of advanced ML capabilities across massive, telemetry streams within Google SecOps, ensuring detection mechanisms scale efficiently with our enterprise customers" growing data environments.
