We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Production Support, Cloud & DevOps (Risk Systems) to lead the operational stability, cloud transformation, DevOps enablement, and production support functions for our enterprise Risk Technology platforms. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, performance, security, and scalability of critical risk management systems supporting Market Risk, Credit Risk, Liquidity Risk, Operational Risk, Stress Testing, Regulatory Reporting, and Risk Analytics across the organization.

The Director will lead global teams spanning Production Support, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Cloud Operations, DevOps, Release Management, and Platform Engineering while partnering closely with Risk Management, Technology, Infrastructure, Information Security, Compliance, and Business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate combines deep financial services risk technology expertise with modern cloud-native architecture, CI/CD, automation, observability, and operational excellence practices.

Key Responsibilities

Production Support & Operational Excellence

  • Provide executive leadership for 24x7 production support of mission-critical Risk Management platforms and applications.
  • Establish and maintain service reliability, availability, resiliency, and operational excellence standards.
  • Drive incident, problem, change, and major event management processes across Risk Technology.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) initiatives and ensure permanent remediation of recurring production issues.
  • Define and manage SLAs, SLOs, KPIs, operational dashboards, and service health metrics.
  • Develop proactive monitoring, alerting, and observability capabilities to minimize outages and business disruption.
  • Ensure regulatory and audit readiness for all production support activities.

Cloud Strategy & Operations

  • Lead cloud adoption and modernization initiatives across Risk Technology platforms.
  • Establish cloud operational standards, governance, security controls, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Drive migration of legacy risk applications to cloud-native architectures.
  • Oversee cloud infrastructure management across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Partner with enterprise architecture and infrastructure teams to define future-state cloud strategies.
  • Implement resiliency, disaster recovery, business continuity, and high-availability solutions.

DevOps, CI/CD & Platform Engineering

  • Build and mature DevOps capabilities across Risk Technology.
  • Establish enterprise CI/CD standards, release automation, and deployment governance.
  • Drive Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), configuration management, and automation initiatives.
  • Champion DevSecOps practices, integrating security controls into the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Improve software delivery speed, quality, and reliability through automation and engineering best practices.
  • Lead platform engineering initiatives that enable self-service capabilities for development teams.

Risk Systems Leadership

  • Partner with Risk Management teams to ensure technology platforms support evolving business and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure operational support for systems supporting:
    • Market Risk
    • Credit Risk
    • Counterparty Risk
    • Liquidity Risk
    • Operational Risk
    • Regulatory Reporting
    • Stress Testing
    • Risk Data Aggregation
    • Risk Analytics and Reporting
  • Manage critical month-end, quarter-end, and regulatory reporting production cycles.
  • Support regulatory examinations, audits, and compliance reviews.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead geographically distributed teams across Production Support, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE, and Platform Engineering.
  • Develop leadership succession plans and foster a high-performance engineering culture.
  • Mentor managers and senior technical staff.
  • Drive workforce planning, hiring, retention, and employee development initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the senior technology liaison for Risk Management stakeholders.
  • Present operational metrics, transformation roadmaps, and strategic initiatives to executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, Infrastructure, Information Security, Compliance, and Audit teams.
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party support providers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 12+ years of technology experience with at least 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
  • Extensive experience supporting enterprise Risk Management platforms within financial services.
  • Proven leadership experience managing Production Support, Cloud Operations, DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure organizations.
  • Strong understanding of financial risk domains including Market Risk, Credit Risk, Liquidity Risk, and Regulatory Reporting.
  • Experience managing large-scale mission-critical production environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading cloud transformation and modernization initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL, incident management, problem management, and service management frameworks.
  • Experience supporting highly regulated environments and regulatory compliance requirements.
