Director, Project Management (New Product Development)

Position Overview:
Danessa Myricks Beauty is seeking a highly strategic and execution-focused Director, Project Management to lead cross-functional planning and execution across all product development initiatives.
This role is responsible for building and scaling best-in-class project management processes that support innovation, product launches, and operational initiatives across the organization. The Director will serve as the central driver of timelines, resource planning, and cross-functional alignment, ensuring all programs are delivered on time, in full, and to brand standards.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Innovation & Product Development, this role plays a critical part in translating innovation strategy into seamless execution across Product Development, Packaging, Regulatory, Operations, and Marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Planning:
- Develop and implement a scalable project management framework aligned with business goals and innovation priorities.
- Partner closely with the Executive Director to prioritize initiatives across the innovation pipeline and product portfolio.
- Establish visibility across all active programs, ensuring alignment on timing, resources, and deliverables.
- Anticipate risks and external factors, proactively developing solutions to maintain project momentum.
Project Execution & Oversight:
- Oversee end-to-end execution of cross-functional initiatives, including new product launches, reformulations, regulatory updates, and operational projects.
- Own and manage the global project pipeline, ensuring clarity of timelines, dependencies, and resource allocation.
- Build and maintain detailed project timelines, identifying critical paths, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, in full, and within scope.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Serve as the central point of coordination across Product Development, Packaging, Regulatory & Quality, Marketing, and Operations.
- Drive accountability across teams to ensure milestones are met and communication is clear.
- Align cross-functional stakeholders to ensure seamless execution from concept through commercialization.
Process & Operational Excellence:
- Continuously refine and optimize project management processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and speed to market.
- Implement tools, templates, and best practices to standardize workflows across the organization.
- Drive operational rigor and consistency across all development programs.
Performance Management & KPIs:
- Define and track key performance indicators across time, cost, and quality.
- Analyze project performance to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Build reporting structures that provide clear visibility to leadership on project health and progress.
Communication & Stakeholder Management:
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project status, risks, and key decisions.
- Translate complex project information into clear, actionable insights for executive audiences.
- Build strong relationships across internal teams and external partners.
Risk Management & Problem Solving:
- Identify potential risks across projects and develop proactive mitigation plans.
- Navigate challenges and roadblocks with a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Ensure business continuity and project success despite evolving priorities.

Professional Qualifications:
- 7–10+ years of experience in project management, preferably within beauty, CPG, or product development.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives from concept through commercialization.
- Strong understanding of product development, packaging, regulatory, and operational processes.
- Proven ability to build and scale project management frameworks.
- Experience managing timelines and resources across multiple concurrent projects.
- Experience in Asana.
