Hood College is seeking a full-time (12-month), tenure-track assistant/associate professor or non-tenure track (Professor of Practice) of Nursing who will serve as director for the newly created DNP/PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) program in Nursing. This new graduate program is part of the college's growing nursing portfolio of programs. Under the collaborative leadership of the Chair of the Department of Nursing, Dean of the Ruth Whitaker Holmes School of Behavioral and Health Sciences, and Dean of the Graduate School, the Program Director of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Program is responsible for the leadership, administration, and development of and teaching in the PMHNP educational program. This role involves overseeing curriculum design, student recruitment, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. In addition, a portion of the program director's time (20%) will be devoted to research activities conducted in collaboration with a federal partner or federal laboratory. The full-time program director is also responsible for teaching in their area of expertise and overseeing the PMHNP track within the Doctor of Nursing Practice program. The preferred candidate will have program development, accreditation, and teaching/mentoring experience necessary to support the implementation of this degree track.

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively provide information and positively respond to questions from both external and internal stakeholders through multiple communication modalities. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills
Proficient with statistical and financial concepts. Must have the ability to apply those concepts to tracking, projections, goal setting, and interpreting reports. Must be able to draw conclusions from reports and make cost effective decisions regarding programmatic resources and needs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a number of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to work independently and as a member of a group in developing and executing project plans. Ability to work in the theoretical arena and apply logic as appropriate.

Compensation
The salary for this position ranges from $100,000-$115,000/year depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, training, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation for work completed beyond the minimum contracted teaching load may be provided. Hood College has provided a compensation range representing its good faith estimate of what the College may pay for the position at the time of posting. The College may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range.
