Key Responsibilities:
Be part of corporate development deal team in its efforts to diligence, structure and underwrite flow reinsurance opportunities; contribute to the construction of technical models and analysis in support of the pricing process for block reinsurance and legal entity transactionsDevelop actuarial models for new reinsurance and M&A opportunities and manage ALM projections in support of the pricing process for block reinsurance and legal entity transactionsDevelop and maintain pricing and renewal rate setting models used in the management of non-guaranteed elements on existing in-force contracts and to generate proposals on new business flow arrangementsContribute to the bi-weekly and monthly rate setting and reporting processes, including the development of pricing projections, quantitative analysis, rate recommendations, and MD&AEstablish and deepen relationships with clients through frequent engagement and regular touchpoints; assist in the development value-added services and support the sourcing and marketing of flow reinsurance solutionsAssist in the evaluation and modeling of transactions by combining technical understanding of financial / regulatory concepts with creative problem solvingContribute to coordination of workflow with external advisors and internal resources to ensure efficient deal processes and project managementParticipate in deal discussions and gain familiarity with transaction agreementsPrepare presentation materials for meetings with executive management, investment committees, board, investors, financing providers, rating agencies, and regulatorsWork with financial reporting, valuation, and risk management teams during diligence and upon completion of transactions to support the onboarding processTake initiative to gain deeper understanding of target products, industry trends, and competitive landscape to help guide decision making and strategic initiatives; stay current on regulatory developments in all relevant jurisdictionsFulfill other roles and responsibilities as required to support growth and evolution of overall enterprise
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or related fieldAt least 5 years of work experience in insurance or finance, with expertise in financial modeling, liability management, and investments; pricing or rate setting experience with life and annuity products is considered a strong assetSuperior technical skills and strong attention to detail for the purposes of building models, improving processes, and solving complex problemsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders at all levels within the organization as well as external partnersSelf-reliant and capable of quickly learning new concepts, thinking creatively and critically, agile and adaptable to changing needs and challenges of a rapidly growing company, results-oriented and able to work under tight deadlines and demanding conditionsProficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint; experience with Moody's GGY AXIS is considered a strong assetAbility to travel when required
