Director of Sales – East

Summary of Position

The Director of Sales – East is a high impact commercial leader responsible for driving the success of the Eco-Products and Vegware brands by executing our two-brand strategy and achieving aggressive sales and profitability goals.

 

This role requires a proven industry leader who brings meaningful customer and broker relationships, a persistent and creative approach to winning, and a track record of leading teams to exceed targets.

 

The Director will provide strategic oversight of Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), Product & Zero Waste Specialists (PZWs), and key broker partnerships, ensuring disciplined execution to accelerate share growth, strategic accounts penetration, and distribution expansion.

 

Reports To: Vice President of Sales

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Market Impact

· Serve as a critical member of the sales leadership team, driving market strategy and ensuring the organization prioritizes high impact initiatives that accelerate sales growth, waste diversion success, and profitability.

· Leverage existing industry relationships to create immediate opportunities for strategic wins, new partnerships, and share gain conversions.

· Identify and pursue high value opportunities with a persistent, solutions oriented approach that consistently moves customers toward “yes.”

 

Team Leadership & Development

· Lead, coach, and inspire a high performing team of Regional Sales Managers and Product & Zero Waste Specialists.

· Create a culture of accountability, urgency, and customer focused execution.

· Provide clear direction on sales strategy, broker engagement, customer prioritization, and team development.

 

Broker & Channel Management

· Strengthen relationships with broker partners and drive consistent execution aligned with company goals.

· Collaborate with the Vegware Director of Sales to ensure clear, unified broker communication under the two-brand strategy.

· Ensure Broker OSPs are implemented, reviewed, measured, and reported with discipline and transparency.

 

Customer & Market Engagement

· The Director brings high-level relationships with strategic customers, distributor leadership, foodservice management companies, and GPOs.

· Partner with RSMs to identify share gain opportunities, navigate compliance and bidding requirements, and execute conversion strategies at key distribution points.

· Monitor and report market conditions, competitive intelligence, pricing pressures, customer feedback, and emerging opportunities.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Work closely with Marketing to ensure the complete value proposition—including sustainability initiatives, product solutions, and services—is consistently communicated to operators and partners.

· Partner with Pricing Management on margin improvement strategies, competitive pricing approaches, and localized pricing initiatives.

Performance Management

· Motivate and challenge the sales team with the tools, coaching, and data needed to overcome obstacles and capture new business.

· Uphold high-performance standards aligned with sales incentive goals, brand strategy, and organizational expectations.

Qualifications: Experience, Competencies & Education

· Minimum 5 years of sales management or broker management experience in the foodservice industry; 10+ years of total sales experience is strongly preferred.

· Demonstrated leadership success managing, developing, and motivating sales teams to exceed goals.

· Strong existing industry relationships with customers, distributors, brokers, or channel partners that can drive immediate business impact.

· Proven track record in high-growth, results-driven sales environments.

· Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.

· Experience working with data analyst to develop effective sales strategies.

· Strong alignment with sustainability in both professional and personal values.

· Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Work Environment

This is a full-time remote, exempt position with required travel.

 

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $150,000 - $210,000 + bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. At Novolex, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
