Description

Investment Bank Legal PositionServe as legal point person, providing transactional and advisory support to fixed income sales and trading desks. Advise on deal-contingent hedging strategies and related swap transactions. Review and analyze M&A documentation, including asset purchase agreements, NDAs, and commitment letters. Evaluate credit agreements and transaction documents for project finance deals. Counsel on securities law matters and support ongoing structured note programs. Manage global outside counsel to assess execution risk and closing probability for acquisition and financing transactions tied to derivatives. Partner with business, risk, and external stakeholders to identify and resolve legal issues in structured cash and derivatives transactions. Respond to cross-functional inquiries (trading, sales, risk, operations, finance, on-boarding) on legal, credit, and documentation matters. Support ad hoc legal initiatives and special projects as needed.The successful applicant will have a JD from US law school, NY State Bar Admission, 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney advising on structured products transactions, derivatives, regulatory matters gained at an AmLaw 100 firm and/or in-house at a financial services company. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a team player with willingness to take initiative are required.Competitive base salary between $250,000-$300,000, bonus, opportunity for growth, work/life balance, hybrid role.
