Summary:


Designs and implements nursing education plans, and manages, delivers, and evaluates all continuing education, training and interventions for all Surgical and Perioperative health professionals, ancillary personnel as well as health professionals visiting our areas such as residents, etc. Facilitates professional interactions between all health care groups, nursing, anesthesia, and departmental associations, including various management levels. Provides management oversight to direct and indirect reports within the quality structure for Surgical and Perioperative Service Lines and integrates best practices, achieving efficient, quality, cost-effective outcomes. Collects and analyzes data related to quality or performance improvement projects that apply to Surgical and Perioperative Services and directs the perioperative quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with patient care regulatory and departmental standards and key performance indicators. Leads the development and improvement of systems and processes within Surgical Perioperative Service Lines to maximize exceptional outcomes in quality and patient safety and satisfaction. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: Master's degree in nursing, healthcare administration or a related field. and a graduate of an approved program of nursing with a current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Ohio Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR). Five years of experience in perioperative service with a focus on quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and education. Experience with developing/monitoring metrics related to quality and compliance. Considerable knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to perioperative services such as the Joint Commission, CMS, and OSHA. Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with other teams and stakeholders. Strong leadership skills including the ability to motivate and engage staff in quality improvement efforts and education. Skill in budgeting, cost analysis, workforce planning, and operational analysis. Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional self-development in the field of perioperative services and healthcare quality improvement. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Physical Demands: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Ability to use a computer Ability to lift 250 - 300 pounds with assistance. Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance.
