Overview

Our People team is looking for a Director, Total Rewards and M&A to lead the design and delivery of compensation and benefits programs for our global workforce, while also serving as the HR lead on merger and acquisition activity. This is a high-impact, dual-mandate role suited to a total rewards professional who thrives on both the steady cadence of annual programs and the fast-moving demands of deal work. You'll own global compensation and benefits strategy across our key markets - the US, Canada, Norway, Colombia, and India - and you'll partner closely with Corporate Development, Legal, and Finance to lead HR due diligence and integration whenever we acquire or are acquired. Leading a team of three, you'll bring rigor, market insight, and a builder's mindset to a global software company operating in the oil and gas industry.

Responsibilities

Total Rewards Strategy

  • Own and evolve the global total rewards strategy, ensuring programs are competitive, equitable, and aligned to business objectives across all regions of operation.
  • Serve as the primary total rewards advisor to HR leadership and business stakeholders on pay and benefits philosophy.

Compensation

  • Lead annual compensation program design, including the merit increase cycle, promotion cycle, and annual budget planning.
  • Own executive compensation and equity/long-term incentive programs, including plan design and coordination with Legal and Finance on grant administration and governance.
  • Benchmark compensation programs against market data across all countries of operation, using survey participation and market pricing to keep pay structures current.
  • Maintain and evolve global job architecture, pay structures, and salary bands.
  • Monitor pay equity and compliance with local pay transparency and compensation regulations across the US, Canada, Norway, Colombia, and India.

Benefits

  • Lead annual benefits design and open enrollment across all key countries, partnering with brokers, carriers, and local advisors to ensure programs meet employee needs and cost targets.
  • Benchmark benefits programs against local market practice in each country and recommend design changes as needed.
  • Manage relationships with benefits vendors, brokers, and consultants globally.

M&A Leadership

  • Serve as the HR lead for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, coordinating due diligence and integration activities across the HR team (Talent, HRIS, Payroll, L&D, and Employee Relations).
  • Lead HR due diligence, including review of target company compensation, benefits, employment agreements, and organizational structure to identify risks, costs, and integration considerations.
  • Develop and execute HR integration plans, including harmonization of pay and benefits programs, systems integration, and workforce transition planning.
  • Partner with Corporate Development, Legal, and Finance throughout the deal lifecycle, from diligence through close and post-close integration.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of three total rewards professionals, building capability and ensuring consistent, high-quality program delivery.

And other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive HR experience, with substantial depth in global compensation and benefits design and delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or significantly supporting M&A activity from an HR perspective, including due diligence and integration; experience in a private equity-backed or PE-owned environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing compensation and benefits programs across multiple countries
  • Working knowledge of executive compensation and equity/long-term incentive plan design.
  • Experience with compensation and benefits benchmarking and market pricing
  • Proven people leadership experience, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate market data and financial considerations into program design decisions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience advising senior leadership and cross-functional partners
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field
